Share-it brought together Sonae IOW at PBS

11 February 2019
Imbued with the spirit of sharing, on the past 8th February, the IOW team organised another edition of Share-it, aiming at the share of internal and external good practice, the reinforcement of group spirit and the acknowledgement of successful cases with the trainers who worked so hard to make IOW a successful case at Sonae

Porto Business School (PBS) was the chosen venue for this event in which we gathered the trainers of the IOW Centre of Portugal and Spain, people responsible for the implementation of IOW within the group’s companies (PMO), pivots of the training programme and respective Human Resources Management Teams as well as Sonae MC’s "    Escola de Frescos”.

We challenged Paula Marques, PBS’s Manager, author of the book "A Era dos Super-Humanos” and co-coordinator of the project "How Humans Learn”, to share her most recent discoveries on this theme.

The benchmarking visit of this edition was PBS, which was represented by Ramon O’Callaghan, PBS’s Dean, Patrícia Teixeira Lopes, Associate Dean, and Rui Coutinho, of the Centre for Business Innovation, to share the way PBS’s success path has developed over the last few years. I must say these talks were rich in continuous improvement, standing on a clear strategy, following well-defined axis and goals, as it is followed in excellence organisations, such as PBS. Walk the talk.

I shared with everyone the actions that the PMO and the Centre of Expertise are developing to fulfil the vision of IOW becoming Sonae’s Continuous Improvement System, lived by people, promoting the client’s satisfaction and result-oriented.

We believe these events also serve as a reinforcement of the IOW trainer’s motivation, therefore, we suggested the sharing of trainees’ testimonials, which was immediately accepted by several, to give us a personal and rich view on the impact the training had on their lives and their teams. We finished by distinguishing our trainers with the presentation of acknowledgement awards in five categories, nominating three trainers for each category: Best NPS, Commitment, Versatility, Availability and improvement Suggestions. The awards were presented by Ângelo Paupério, Co-CEO at Sonae, and by myself.

All in all, it was a day for everyone to learn. We got to know each other better, solidified our mission and, with all confidence, I dare say that, looking at the present of IOW, we have safeguarded its future.
